Governance FAQ

How many tokens do I need to be part of the governance?

Right now there is minimum of 10 000 APV tokens to be part of the governance. The higher the numer of tokens held the more impact you can have on the governance proposals. It is possible that in the future the minimum amount of tokens to be a part of the governance can change.

How are Api-Verse Network improvement proposals created?

Anyone can create and submit improvement proposals. While our current platform for discussing Api-Verse governance is Discord to vote the Api-Verse project need to take off-chain snapshots. If a proposal is approved, it will be reviewed and implemented by the Api-Verse Engineering team.

Over time, it is possible that Api-Verse becomes more open-source. Then it is expected that some of the community members will take on the responsibility of implementing changes.

What are the guidelines / rules for the governance discussions?

Enhance the discussions

Enhance our discussions by continually striving to contribute positively, even in small ways. If you're uncertain whether your post adds value, take a moment to reconsider and refine your thoughts before sharing. We care deeply about the topics discussed here and hope you will, too. Show respect for both the subjects and the participants, regardless of differing opinions. A great way to enrich the conversation is by engaging with existing discussions. Explore the topics already being talked about before responding or initiating a new thread, increasing your chances of connecting with like-minded individuals.

Be Respectful, Even in Disagreement

t's perfectly acceptable to disagree with someone. However, focus on critiquing ideas rather than individuals. Please refrain from:

  • Criticizing the tone instead of the content
  • Reacting impulsively with contradiction
  • Name-calling
  • Personal attacks Instead, offer thoughtful counter-arguments that enhance the discussion.

Your Participation Matters

The discussions we engage in shape the experience for every newcomer. Contribute to the future of our community by participating in conversations that make this forum engaging and steering clear of those that don't. Discourse offers tools like bookmarks, likes, flags, replies, and edits to help the community highlight the best (and worst) contributions. Utilize these tools to enhance both your experience and that of others. Let's strive to leave our community better than we found it.

Maintain Order

Help keep our forum organized so we can focus on meaningful discussions rather than housekeeping. To do this:

  • Avoid starting topics in incorrect categories.
  • Refrain from posting the same content across multiple topics.
  • Do not post replies that lack content.
  • Stay on topic and avoid changing the subject mid-discussion.
  • There's no need to sign your posts; your profile information is already attached.

Maintain Civility

Rudeness can derail a constructive conversation: Be polite. Avoid posting anything that could be seen as offensive, abusive, or hate speech. Keep it appropriate. Do not share obscene or sexually explicit content. Show respect. Do not harass, impersonate, or share private information about others. Honor our forum. Avoid posting spam or damaging the forum in any way. These guidelines aren't rigid rules, so steer clear of anything that might resemble them. If in doubt, you can always ask.

Flag Issues When You See Them

Moderators have special authority and are responsible for this forum, but you play a crucial role too. With your assistance, moderators can focus on facilitating the community rather than just policing it. If you encounter inappropriate behavior, do not respond to it. Engaging only encourages the behavior, drains your energy, and wastes everyone's time. Instead, flag the issue. If a post receives enough flags, it will trigger automatic action or moderator intervention. To maintain our community, moderators have the right to remove any content or user account at any time for any reason. Moderators do not preview new posts, and neither the moderators nor site operators are responsible for content posted by the community.
